• Being listed on the SCN website with photo and bio as a current member of SCN.
  • Marketing to healthcare meeting planners throughout the year via the site, ads, and other printed materials.
  • An annual "learning lab" to perfect speaking, consulting, and writing skills along with personal and professional development of one's own business.
  • Networking at the conference and social hours as well as throughout the year with colleagues who share the same joys and challenges of speaking, consulting and writing.
  • An opportunity to learn how to develop products such as books, DVDs or CDs to increase one's visibility and generate passive income.
  • Being involved with the annual SOS (Spotlight on Speaking) either as a participant or in the audience as a supportive coach for colleagues.
  • The opportunity to return home with volumes of material, checklists, ideas, and panel discussion/ selected break-out group notes which is more material than can be implemented in one year.
  • An opportunity to rub elbows with VIP editors, meeting planners, and corporate sponsors from leading companies that hire or sponsor speakers and authors. (The next generation is being developed now. Will you be a part of it?)
  • Notices, leads, and other promotional opportunities from Linda Miles, SCN's founder, who is often called upon to recommend various leaders in practice management, hygiene, clinical dentistry, and assistant slots on programs and magazine articles.
  • Periodic emails throughout the year from Linda Miles and other SCN members in the Network that current members may find useful in their own businesses.
  • The possibility of forming on-going alliances with other SCN members to blend each person's talent into a group presentation, a company, or referral system.
  • An opportunity to go from non-busy to overwhelmed with invitations as some of our members have experienced immediately upon joining SCN. It is however, like most organizations and businesses, you get out of it exactly what you put into it. Joining alone does not create the success our members enjoy. Doing something with the materials and ideas is the key. The hard work and dedication of perfecting one's skills is an on-going process that is simplified ten fold with a group of caring, sharing colleagues. SCN is just that, a platform to perfect, present and an opportunity to give back the gift of helping others reach their goals. As Zig Ziglar says, "You get out of life what you want and need when you help others get what they want and need". In essence, this is SCN's success secret, "people helping people so we all win."

Hey Linda

I know you probably get many e-mails each day, so I will respect your time and keep this one brief.

On a personal professional note, thank you for facilitating a wonderful professional growth weekend for our growing SCN family. It was a joy to interact with everyone.and it is my privilege and pleasure to have been welcomed into the family. I found the MOM weekend very cozy where we were able to spend more time talking with attendees due to the intimate size of the group. I also enjoyed contributing (during our break out groups) ideas that work for me. Yesterday I organized my notes & ideas gathered from Saturday into an action plan for the year. I find the SCN experience not only feeds the professional, it feeds the soul also. When the soul is fed it adds passion to our activities. I believe that passion driven by ethical values is a huge ingredient for success in our business of speaking/writing/consulting. Linda, thank you for empowering us to grow both personally and professionally through the SCN experience you, Lee, David, Lois and rest of the board facilitate.

Priceless: An SCN Success Story

Casey Hein, BSDH, MBA

"Like any other kind of business lead, it is always a good idea to ask potential clients how they came to hear about your services. Ironically, it was the day after I attended the SCN meeting in Orlando that I received a call from a unique kind of marketing firm that specializes in helping major companies create products. They were in search of a dental hygienist, and several other healthcare professionals for a think tank, and asked if I would consider participating.  When I asked the marketing company representative how they found my name, the answer was the SCN web site. Thank you for your presence."

Regards,
Casey Hein
